These lectures and readings were delivered during McClanahan's tenure as Writer in Residence at Ashland University. The five lectures address the sources of a writer's material, the creative process, and the writer's responsibility to the world outside her door.
The readings include poems, essays, a parable, and a dramatic monologue.
